The Knife Gate Valve is engineered for on-off isolation service in pipelines carrying high solids, viscous, abrasive and sludge-type fluids. Its sharpened stainless steel blade is designed to cut through heavy media, ensuring reliable shut-off even in the harshest operating environments.
With a short face-to-face (L) length, the valve offers easy installation, low weight and cost-effective performance. When fully open, the valve provides minimal pressure loss, improving flow efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
The valve body is manufactured from cast iron and protected with electrostatic powder epoxy coating, making it suitable for corrosive environments such as wastewater treatment plants and chemical sludge handling. The acid-resistant stainless steel blade minimizes corrosion damage and significantly reduces maintenance requirements.
Knife gate valves are intended strictly for fully open or fully closed operation. Partial opening may cause vibration, leading to wear of the blade and seat. For this reason, slow opening and closing operation is recommended to protect the valve and pipeline.
The valve can also be supplied with actuator-driven operation (pneumatic or electric) upon request.
