The tilting check valve with hydraulic brake is specially designed to prevent impact, noise and water hammer that may occur during sudden flow reversals in pumped pipeline systems.
In conventional check valves, when backflow reaches the valve before complete closure, the disc may shut abruptly, causing shock, vibration and noise. This hydraulic brake assisted design eliminates these effects by controlling the opening and closing speeds of the disc in a smooth and gradual manner.
The hydraulic braking system allows precise adjustment of both opening and closing characteristics, preventing the formation of water hammer and reducing mechanical stress on the pipeline, pump and valve components. Thanks to this controlled movement, system reliability and operational safety are significantly improved.
The valve body, stem and disc (flapper) are engineered to withstand the stresses generated by hydraulic braking forces during closure. This robust construction ensures long service life even under demanding operating conditions.
